Event information

Registration for this event closes at Fri 31 Jul 2026 09:00.

The newest variation of floorball has now come to Canberra. This winter season will see Canberra’s first 3v3 floorball competition played under the international 3v3 rules. This series will showcase the best floorball talent Canberra has to offer, as well as providing an opportunity for new players to get involved and try out the new format

Games are played on a smaller, 20m x 10m court, with three field players and one goalkeeper, with a maximum of 10 players per team. Games will be played in accordance with the IFF 3v3 Rules, with 2 x 10 minute continuous-time periods.

Teams will play 2 games each day, either back to back or with a 1 game break depending on number of teams. If playing in multiple divisions we will endeavour to ensure divisions do not overlap, but this is not gauranteed.

Floorball equipment (sticks & goalkeeper equipment) will be available for use at all games.

Why 3v3 and what’s happening in December

We are excited to announce that Floorball ACT will be hosting the inaugural Australian 3v3 Championships in December 2026. The winning Men’s and Women’s teams will be offered the opportunity to represent Australia at the World Floorball 3v3 Championships. Additionally, Floorball Australia is working extremely hard behind the scenes to get 3v3 Floorball into the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane. So, who knows, we might have Floorball ACT players in the Olympics!

Date, time & place

The competition will run on Saturday mornings at Tuggeranong Archery Centre, with approximately 30-minute game slots occurring between 8am and 1pm. Exact game lengths and timings will be dictated by the final number of teams.

The first complete round will be held on Saturday 13 June, and the competition will conclude on 1 August. Exact times will be driven by the final number of teams, as well as court availability.

Divisions, teams & registrations

Registration for this competition costs $105 per player. Note this cost is in addition to the cost of Floorball ACT membership.

The series will be split into multiple divisions:

  • Division 1: for experienced players that want to compete at the highest level and will be looking for selection in the ACT 3v3 sides for the national championships;

  • Division 2: athletes playing similar sports at a high level, and current Floorball ACT players who wish to take the next step in their floorball development;

  • Social: for social players, new players, and athletes playing similar sports at a social level.

  • Women’s: A dedicated women’s 3v3 event. Please note this will only be possible if we get sufficient interest or may be a reduced format offering during the 6 weeks.

Players who are unsure which division to register for should contact info@floorballact.org.au with details of their playing experience so we can suggest a division for you.

Players may register for multiple divisions if they wish; players should consider their physical ability to play several games in a day before they register for both divisions. It is expected that players competing in multiple divisions play to the level of the competition, assume a 'play-maker' role, or play out of position, in lower divisions. There is no additional charge to play in multiple divisions. However, Floorball ACT will only accept multi-Division nominations if:

  • The player has a valid reason to wish to play in multiple Divisions (e.g., playing with other friends, filling a shortage of players, etc.); and,

  • There is sufficient room in other Divisions.

Players may register as individuals, with teams formed and captains designated by Floorball ACT. Teams will be formed with the following aims in mind:

  • Player safety;

  • An even, exciting competition;

  • Growth of the sport;

  • Player development;

  • Player preferences. Player preferences around, e.g., who they might like to be on the same team as, will be considered, but only if they do not adversely affect the other aims listed.

Players may submit their own teams to the competition. Please note that any submitted teams are considered requests; at the closing date of registrations, Floorball ACT will review the submitted teams to ensure they achieve the aims listed above before accepting them into the competition.

Initial registrations will close at the time shown above to allow Floorball ACT to confirm teams and a fixture. After that point, registrations will be re-opened for individual players. Players must register before taking the court, and to guarantee they are able to play in a given round, must have registered no later than 5pm Wednesday prior to that round.

All players wishing to participate must hold a full & paid up Floorball ACT membership (i.e., Senior or Junior) to participate in Winter Series 2026. Memberships (valid for 6 or 12 months) are separate from event registration fees and cover our mandatory insurance and help Floorball ACT in providing and maintaining equipment, uniforms and other ongoing costs. You will not be able to register for the Winter Series without a membership.

Competition Guidelines & Regulations can be found on the Policies and Documentation page.
