Floorball ACT is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Leeroy Petersen, owner of our sponsor Caribou Kingston.

Leeroy was larger than life; a force of passion, energy, and commitment, whose impact on Canberra's business and sporting community was immense. Through Caribou Kingston, he sponsored several local sporting teams, including the Canberra Brave, Canberra Pirates women's ice hockey, Centurions gridiron, Canberra Griffins lacrosse, and Floorball ACT. 

Floorball ACT Treasurer Shane Turner says:

"Genuinely one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met. Always up for a chat, regardless of what side of the bar he was on.

"When he was approached for sponsorship, he jumped at the opportunity and was keen to contribute to Floorball ACT… I don’t even know if he knew what floorball was, but it didn’t stop him. He just wanted to give back and build local communities, something that we greatly appreciate."

Leeroy's enthusiasm was infectious, and his presence will be profoundly missed. The thoughts of Floorball ACT and its members are with his family, friends, extended Caribou family, and all those who knew him.
